LEAVING a TV or a radio on at low volume can be comforting to some cats since humans are relatively noisy creatures and the sounds can make it feel like you've never left. Remember to keep it on low, however, since cats can pick up noise easier than humans, and too much loud noise can cause more stress. In the house, Ching and Fizz and Arrow are very attentive to the end signals/music or credits of a TV series. That’d be the time for their bellyrubs and “pull.” Never missed it. 🐈📺🐕

WHY do cats like to destroy Christmas trees? A Christmas tree may be the coolest thing they've seen all year! Says some animal behaviorists (who are actually dogs). And as cats, they naturally seek out high places to rest and observe. Also the moving and shimmering ornaments can look like prey. In the house, Fizz and Ching are different. They actually protect the Christmas tree here, especially the spot where some of the gift boxes had their names. 🐱🎄🐱

THERE is no specific amount of time spent on your phone, or the frequency you check for updates, or the number of messages you send or receive that indicates an addiction or overuse problem. Cellphone obsession is no cure. To liberate yourself from your cellphone, you gotta beat the Devil in a fiddle contest in Georgia. 📱📲🥹

“FRANKENSTEIN” is an 1818 novel written by Mary Shelley. “Frankenstein” tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. Again, Frankenstein is the scientist, not the creature. Okay? Remember that! 🧛‍♂️🥸🧛‍♂️

MICE are an easy target for cats. Much like birds, another favorite feline prey, mice are the perfect size for little paws and don't put up much of a fight. Cats are pouncers who love to stalk their target and wear them down. They're also attracted to a mouse's flittering, skittering, unpredictable movement. But lately, cats found use for mice. They became buddies. Cats now use a mouse in googling stuff online. 🐈🐀🐈‍⬛

CAT influencers have higher engagement rates than humans even when they both have the same reach. On social media, content featuring pets simply works better than human-centered content because people are more likely to tag friends to cat content. Well, you know, Taylor Swift’s cat Olivia Benson is worth $97 million, right? Anybody interested in hiring Ching The Zing and Fizz The Wiz? Fizz: “But I need to read the script first and review the endorsement contract.” 🐱👡🐱

MR Santa Claus pays scale wages for each Reindeer as follows, as stipulated in the 2022 Collective Bargaining Agreement (which is, of course, subjected to review and revision per year): Two-and-a-half (2 ½) carrots every three (3) hours or sixteen (16) leaves of lettuce per four-hundred (400) rooftops, with one (1) ten (10) minute cootchie, cootchie, coo per continent. But Dasher supports a larger household so he moonlights for DoorDash and Grubhub these days. 🎅🦌🎅

BY the time kids are in middle school, the pressure from kids can be intense, and parents worry that their child will feel isolated if other kids have phones and they don't. According to Common Sense Media, 42 percent of kids have a phone by age 10. By age 12, it's 71 percent. By 14, it's 91 percent. Yup, take that cellphone away, they’d be depressed. And their mom and dad will be depressed. And then their dog and cat will be depressed, too. 👶📱📲

SNOWMAN, a representation of a human figure created with compressed snow. But snowperson is the correct word. Or snowx. Or companion snow. Or snow represents. ☃️🌬⛄️

WHY do cats lick their paws then wipe their face? Cats are constantly cleaning themselves to keep dirt, and very importantly, scents out of their fur. They will usually clean their body first and finish by washing their face and ears with their paws; unless they have just finished eating, then they will give their face a quick clean-up. Yup, cats are into hygiene and all that stuff. Fizz: “We are cultured, sophisticated, and are naturally decent shinobis.” 🐈‍⬛🐱👅

WHO is Waldo hiding from? He's hiding from Odlaw. Waldo's walking stick is a magical gift from Wizard Whitebeard that allows him to travel through space and time. He mainly uses it for vacations, but once Odlaw found out, he started chasing him to get that stick for himself so he can get into Fort Knox and steal all the gold. Waldo kept on hiding until he got lost. Along the way, he also lost his cellphone. So you know, he is REALLY lost. 😒🤨😟

THERE may be cases where cats accept a pet bird as just another member of the family, but these are rare. The most likely scenario is that your bird and your cat will learn to accept each other, assuming that the cat's hunting instinct does not take over. Maybe you can start getting them acquainted by introducing them as friends on Facebook, then teach them how to dance and/or sing together on TikTok? That’ll work, I reckon. 🐈📲🐦

DO cats and dogs like tacos? No! Tacos are made of corn meal, fat, salt and sometimes hot spices, too. There is nothing in those that is good for a cat to eat. The cat in the photo is talkin’ in metaphors, sort of. She’s saying quit the drama and let’s go get some chalupa. Uhh chalupa is still not good for cats and dogs? Whatever. 🐈🌮🐕

SAYS Mikel Maria Delgado, PhD, a Sacramento animal behaviorist and a cat: “A Christmas tree has a lot of interesting smells. It's probably the most interesting thing that they can climb in the house, because not enough people provide their cat climbing structures.” Fizz and Ching have ample places and buildings to climb here in the house so they don’t mess the Christmas tree here. In fact, Fizz guards it from possible interpolating bugs. And Ching loves selfies in front of it. 🎄🐈🎄

UNIQUE names for young people are common these days. Fizz says “As American culture has become more individualistic, parents have favored giving children names that help them stand out.” Trudat again, Fizz! Examples of unique baby names for 2023: Elio, Eos, Glow, Halo, Helios, Mux, Ochre, Oriana, Orla, Shine, Sunday, Suvi. Others: Meow, Woofy, Tweeta, Freebyrd, De’Hashtag, Tangina, Galapagos (nickname Gally), Namaste (or Namy), and Solstice (or Solsy). 👶👶👶

HIBERNATION is a way for many creatures – from butterflies to bats – to survive cold winters without having to forage for food or migrate to somewhere warmer. They turn down their metabolisms to save energy. Hibernation in hot climates is called aestivation. Get that? Aestivation. How do they eat in those hibernation/aestivation months? Well, there are thingies like DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, Goldbelly, and many other franchise restaurants that deliver food. Duh. 🐇🦝🐿

CATS happily coexist with a dog if they are given time to get to know each other. They generally will learn to love each other. Trudat. They’d play and nap in one bed, my bed. Just like Arrow, Ching and Fizz. BFFs. Sometimes Arrow gets jealous but she’s okay. In fact Arrow even offered to share her password with the kitten sisters. But Fizz refused nicely, saying “Arrow, you don’t share passwords. That is your privacy. No need. I can hack into your Facebook page, anyways.” 🐈🥰🐕

A RECENT national study, published in USA Today, found that third through eighth grade students were more than four months behind academically. The most likely fixes aren't getting enough traction. Because adults confuse the young. Drive children to depression and loss of learning esteem. Pronouns, hair style, gender IDs are more “relevant” than whatever. So yes today’s youth believe Alexander Hamilton was a hip-hop artist. 🧏‍♀️🎧🧏

FOR cats, being up high provides a sense of security. It gives them a better vantage point to see what's going on down there with hoomans. Your cat may see “predators” in the form of other cats they aren't getting along with, dogs, and visitors who look like armadillos. Of course, that is according to humans. Humans love to see cats in “cat trees” more than cats themselves do. Cats simply do whatever because they can. Fizz: “We are ninja shinobis. We just do it. Like McJordan.” 🐈🌳🐈‍⬛
